The GRAFE Group, based in Blankenhain, specializes in modifying thermoplastic materials. This involves precisely influencing the color, chemical properties, and physical characteristics of these materials. High-tech materials are thus created from commodity plastics. In addition to color and additive masterbatches (color granules), the product range includes a wide selection of functional plastic compounds.

The family business was founded in Jena in 1991 by four brothers – Matthias, Clemens, Christian and Michael Grafe. Four years later, they moved to the modern company complex in Blankenhain, where today more than 300 employees provide innovative solutions.

The family-owned company is a valued partner in the plastics processing industry. More than 2,000 customers worldwide, including companies in the optical, toy, medical technology, and automotive industries such as VW, Audi, and Porsche, are supplied with GRAFE products.

GRAFE's customers rely on the ability of the Blankenhain-based employees to develop intelligent solutions that further enhance customized products. To meet this demand, the GRAFE Group places a strong emphasis on training. Ten percent of its workforce consists of apprentices and students. With globally oriented patents, one of the largest research departments in the industry, and close collaboration with scientific institutions, GRAFE is usually one step ahead of the competition.
